About Migration Pulse Hub
A rights-based organisation working at the intersection of migration, advocacy, research, and legal protection across East Africa since 2020.
Born from the Frontlines of Migration
At Migration Pulse Hub, we are dedicated to upholding the fundamental rights and dignity of migrants and forcibly displaced persons across all borders and boundaries. We believe that safe, orderly, and humane mobility is a universal human right.
We operate as experts in the complexities of both internal displacement (IDPs) and external (international) migration — recognising the unique challenges faced by individuals who remain within their home country and those who cross international lines.
Our approach is holistic and forward-looking, cutting across key global challenges: climate change — advocating for populations displaced by environmental factors; health — ensuring access to care and addressing trauma; education — securing opportunities for displaced children and adults; and technology — utilising innovative solutions to enhance protection, provide information, and facilitate integration.
We work to transform policy into practice, turning vulnerability into resilience, and giving voice to those seeking safety and a brighter future — from our base in Nairobi, Kenya, across eight countries in Eastern Africa.
Mission, Vision & Values
The convictions that drive every programme, case, and conversation at Migration Pulse Hub.
Our Mission
To protect the dignity and secure the fundamental human rights of all internally displaced persons (IDPs) and international migrants by addressing the root causes and cascading effects of forced mobility — from securing climate justice and health access to empowering futures through education and innovative technology solutions.
Our Vision
To achieve a future where mobility is a pathway to opportunity and resilience — not a source of vulnerability — and where the inherent rights and dignity of every migrant and displaced person are universally protected. A world where innovative solutions in health, education, and technology mitigate the impacts of climate change and conflict, ensuring all individuals, regardless of location or legal status, are empowered to thrive and build stable, contributing lives within inclusive and compassionate communities.
What We Stand For
Inclusion
We place migrants, refugees, and displaced people at the centre of our work — as rights-holders, leaders, and active decision-makers. We advance inclusive, humane migration approaches that prioritise dignity and belonging.
Non-Discrimination
We oppose xenophobia and exclusion in all forms. Human rights are universal and non-negotiable, regardless of status, nationality, gender, or circumstance. Every person's dignity is equal and inviolable.
Integrity
We act with honesty, transparency, and accountability in everything we do. Our work is grounded in rigorous research, lived experience, and credible evidence — not assumption or agenda.
The Thematic Foundations of Our Work
Every programme, research study, and legal case we pursue is anchored in one or more of these five cross-cutting pillars — ensuring our work addresses the full complexity of forced mobility and displacement.
Climate Change
We advocate for populations displaced by environmental factors — from floods and drought to sea-level rise — and champion climate justice as an integral dimension of migration rights.
Health
We ensure displaced persons have access to healthcare and address the trauma and mental health impacts of forced mobility — because the right to health does not stop at a border.
Education
We secure access to learning opportunities for displaced children and adults — working with schools, governments, and communities to ensure displacement is never a barrier to education.
Gender
We centre the protection and empowerment of women and girls in displacement — addressing gender-based violence, ensuring women's leadership in decision-making, and advancing gender-responsive migration governance.
Technology
We utilise innovative digital solutions to enhance protection, provide life-saving information, and facilitate integration — leveraging technology as a force multiplier for rights-based migration work.
A Rights-Based, Evidence-Led Approach
Every programme we design begins with listening. We work directly with migrant communities to understand their lived experiences before designing any intervention. This community-first approach ensures our work remains grounded, relevant, and accountable.
We then translate community insights into evidence through rigorous research — field surveys, legal case analysis, policy reviews, and participatory action research. This evidence feeds directly into our advocacy, allowing us to speak with authority in policy spaces.
Finally, we act — through legal cases, capacity building, and direct support — to deliver real protection to real people.
